Issues with my exhibition

Document, Subject

Thursday 9th May 2019

I have finally put my final exhibition up. I decided to put it against the wall to attract the viewers to come up and look over the banister at my artwork. I had some people come up to me and was quite rude about my plinth being near their work. I had arranged that it would go there with James, so I didn’t know what to do.

I didn’t feel right with my work being there and people feeling annoyed. It also just felt out of place.

Friday 10th May 2019

I decided to move my plinth with the permission of James. It has now been moved onto the same side as my posters so the public will see my artwork as soon as they walk out of the lift.

I think this just all makes more sense now and it will be the first art work the public see when they walk out of the lift.

I tried the plinth a few different ways.

Plinth as you walk out of the lift. Looks out of the way/ could cause obstruction

This works much better in my opinion and my artwork looks more ‘together’.

I decided on this position (image below), with the plinth at an angle. The posters can be read clearer, the leaflets feel positioned correctly. Another amazing thing is the lighting. Where the plinth originally was it was very dark, now it is in the corridor with the natural light. I am much more happier with this set up of my plinth/ whole exhibition.
